Makes sense. I guess that would be a way to explain some of those unresolved missing person cases. Alien abduction.

So the crop circles-- are those true? Do you think aliens make those?

Well yeah!

Someone tried to make a crop circle once. It took them a really long time and it wasn't worth all the effort.

Crop circles appear over night so I don't think humans make them.

They are pretty big...and they always look really well done, so I guess it is hard for even a group of people to do that in one night.

You can't see anything at night. The circle won't come out perfectly.

There's another legend behind the crop circles, do you know it?

[odasaku]

I don't. What is it?

Legend of the devil mower.

There's a story about a farmer who said that it was too much work for a single man to mow down three acres of oats.

He swore that 'the devil should mow it instead'!! That's the oldest record of a crop circle being made in history.

[odasaku]

Then the devil played him a trick. He mowed it, but not completely.

That's how the story goes.

Hey, do you think Retrospec is responsible for some of the strange occurrences in our world that have no answer?

Like crop circles for example.

[odasaku]

You think Retrospec makes crop circles in farm fields here?

Probably.

A couple months ago I think one of the directors or something said that they came from space so...

It seems likely.

Retrospec can do almost anything.

They're from outer space? Really?

[odasaku]

One of them said that. I guess it might be true...but I haven't heard of anyone having their brain eaten.

[physix]

That's a good thing.

Our brains are safe for the time being.

[odasaku]

But if you think about how we get memories of "past lives", maybe they're not so safe.

[physix]

Oh right, there's that to consider too. It's not just the aliens who are after our brains....

Wouldn't you get an identity crisis from remembering the past? The past and the present would overlap itself.

[odasaku]

Yeah. Even if you try to ignore it, you'll probably go through one.

[physix]

I don't have enough memories to judge my past self yet. Kind of makes me wonder, but I think I'd be better off not knowing.

How long did it take before you finally had an idea of what you used to be?

[odasaku]

Honestly I still have no idea who I used to be. It's still confusing. I might even be dead.

[physix]

All of it happened in the past, right? I wouldn't even be surprised if you were dead.

Life isn't something that's meant to last forever.

[odasaku]

Yeah. But I don't know how far in the past it was or if it was something like a past life or if this is some bizarre after world.

[physix]

That's true. I'm sorry you went through that. It sounds unfortunate, past or not.

Do you know about the alternate dimension theory? Sometimes I hear people saying that they're living in two realities at once.

[odasaku]

It's alright. Nothing that can be done about it.

I've heard something like that, maybe. That our universe is just one of many. Is that it?

[physix]

That's it. You know a lot!

Do you like to read books? Whenever I mention these things to people they have no idea what I'm talking about...

[It makes her feel a little weird.]

I don't know if it's a lot...but I do like reading. I haven't read that much sci-fi though.

[physix]

That explains a lot. Reading is fun past time.

You can learn so much from other people.

Yeah. What I like about books is how it feels like you're entering a new world with each book.
